'Give him a chance,' they said! by GarthTheUndying 'Give him a chance,' they said! by GarthTheUndying
So, it really happened, didn't it? The United States of America has essentially been taken over by a goddamn super-villain. And even now, my shock and disbelief of the situation still hasn't subsided. It's been heartbreaking seeing the country come so far, only for the new administration eager to tear down every progressive endeavor their predecessors have made, and robbing millions of people of their healthcare, for nothing more than satisfying their own greed and self-interests. I've heard the term "The Legion of Doom" being used to describe the new administration, and judging from what I've witnessed these past couple of months, there's no better way to describe them.

Seeing people's reaction to these events have also reopened some emotional wounds for me. I can't exactly say that I've been there, but I have a firm grasp on how it feels to have your world fall apart around you and how powerless it can make you feel. All I can really say is what has been said to me when I was suffering through the worst of my depression: No matter how bad things look, it's important not to act rash. Now more than ever is when you need to be at your strongest. There are those who will go out of their way to undermine you, make you feel small and insignificant, but you're stronger than you think.

Suppression is the first resort of the fearful. There are more of you than there are them, and I believe that together you can persevere. Historically, mankind doesn't suffer tyranny for long. What feels like their rise to power could in fact be their final flailing. Whatever may come in the next few years, don't lose hope.

Wouldn't Jafar be deported too?
Aside from that, Trump's got a pretty neat cabinet.

It's even more Saturday Morning Cartoon Villain goofiness when you find out the new press secretary has been waging a five year war with Dippin' Dots. XD

While at this point I could not care less about this subject now that the election is over and done with, I truly do believe Hillary would have been better. General competence aside, she would never have made the ruinous decisions that Drumpf has made in this past week alone. Not all of them, at least. She also wouldn't have someone as reprehensible as Steve Bannon in her cabinet, or inexperienced choices like Ben Carson or Betsy DeVos. Hillary wouldn't exactly have been great for America, to say the least, but she was the lesser of two evils.

You do realize that Trump's support base contains literal fucking Nazis right? Because if you've got Nazi's supporting you, you automatically lose your argument.

I worry for the future of the U.S.

Even though I'm in Australia, that doesn't necessarily make me feel any safer. Trump is a monster who needs to crawl back into the hole he somehow managed to slither out of.

As always, though, this is a wonderfully drawn picture.

Thanks.

I worry a lot about the current state of the U.S. too. I'm hauntingly reminded of that scene from Metal Gear Solid 2, specifically that one line:

"The individual is said to be weak, but far from powerless. A single person has the potential to destroy the world. And the age of digital communication gives even more power to the individual. "

This is without a doubt the most memorable scene in the MGS series. As poignant today as it was when it came out in 2001.

Isn't Bison wanted to rule the earth to end pollution and Frieza had an incredibly diverse group and was open to other races having high ranking positions in his organization and Aku open the earth for aliens what Obama is doing?
Reply
:icongarththeundying:
Well, for one, I think you're confusing Bison with Ra's Al Ghul. Second, Frieza rules an entire empire through fear and brute force. Diversity doesn't mean a lot if your subjects are essentially slaves. Third, Obama actually deported more immigrants than Bush ever did.

Oh hi, just replying to said that you draw the guy surrounded by villain to make him look bad but end up drawing him so happy and smug that you accidentally create a reaction image that's not half-bad, seriously I have already cropped it put him in my smug folder, nice job.
